A large resort on Yeongjong Island, close enough to Incheon Airport that a long layover can become a night’s stay.
The place
Paradise City is a big complex beside Incheon International Airport, with hotels, a spa, indoor attractions, shops and restaurants. Art is on show throughout its public spaces, and for many guests the art and the architecture are what they remember, more than the gaming floor.
The casino admits foreign passport holders only; Korean nationals cannot enter. It asks for your original passport, not a copy, and first-time visitors register at a membership desk by the entrance. The minimum age is 19.
When to go
Spring (April and May) and autumn (September to November) are the mild seasons around Seoul. Summer is hot and humid, with a rainy spell that usually peaks in July; winter is cold and dry.
Because the resort sits next to the airport, many guests plan around a flight rather than a season: arrive in the evening, use the spa in the morning, and head back to the terminal.
Around it
Seoul
The AREX airport railway runs from the terminals into the city; the express train to Seoul Station takes under an hour.
Yeongjong Island
Beaches and seafood restaurants on the island’s west side, a short taxi ride from the resort.
Incheon across the water
Chinatown and the Songdo waterfront on the mainland, reached over the long bridges from the island.
Before you book, ask
- Does the shuttle serve both airport terminals, and at what hours?
- Can the spa or indoor attractions be booked for the day you arrive?
- Is late check-out possible before an evening flight?
- What the casino’s membership desk will ask you for.
